December 4: Joan attends a benefit performance of "Wild Is The Wind" starring Anna Magnani. The performance is held in Manhattan, New York, and is to benefit the Waif orphan adoption organization.

December 28: Joan, Alfred, the twins and Betty Barker go to a matinee of the play "West Side Story" in Manhattan, New York.
December 24: Joan and Alfred officially move into their new apartment on 2 East 70th Street in Manhattan, New York. Prior to moving into the apartment, Joan and Alfred had rented a two-bedroom, two-bath suite at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. After moving into the new apartment, Joan allows Betty Barker, who's visiting New York, to have the suite at the Plaza Hotel until Joan, Alfred, the twins and Betty depart New York to travel to Los Angeles, California on January 4th, 1958.
December 31: Betty Barker takes the twins to the Central Park Zoo and on a long walk around Central Park.
