THE CONCLUDING CHAPTER OF CRAWFORD

Joan Crawford Reading "My Way of Life"
Free Audio Download

Background

In 1972, Joan Crawford was recorded reading her autobiography, "My Way of Life." This recording was created by "Talking Book Records" exclusively for the Library of Congress, and on behalf of The American Foundation of the Blind and The American Printing House For the Blind. The recording, which was composed of five double-sided records were available only through the public library system. The recording was never copyrighted, and it was created prior to the United States Copyright Act of 1976. Therefore, legally speaking, the recording is in the public domain.

Despite these facts, Casey LaLonde, the youngest grandson of Joan Crawford (Crawford had eight grandchildren in total, all of which are still alive as of 2024) and Graymalkin Media, who has (questionably) republished "My Way of Life" and "A Portrait of Joan" with a foreword by LaLonde, have attempted to claim copyright ownership of this recording, and attempted to deny Crawford fans the right to listen to this public domain content without purchasing the audio through their company.

Due to their own monetary interests, however legally misguided they may be, Casey LaLonde and/or his subordinates and Graymalking Media have repeatedly, and illegally, had this recording removed from YouTube by falsely claiming copyright ownership of the recording.

Therefore, this Webmaster is making this audio recording by Joan Crawford available to fans for free below. Enjoy.
