A pair of lime green vinyl dress shoes and purse from Crawford's personal collection.

Appears to be made by Leach-Kale. Sling-back straps are made of clear vinyl. Accompanied by a green on green print chiffon scarf.

This set was sold at auction on November 25th, 2005. Hammer price: $250.00.

A pair of silver opalescent open toe sling-back Leach-Kale shoes, with matching purse and cosmetic bag from Crawford's private collection. All three are made out of plastic covered fabric. Sling-back straps on shoes made of clear plastic. This set was auctioned on November 26th, 2005.

Summer handbag & shoe set having dark brown cane laminated between clear vinyl. Change purse; handbag with chain handles, 15" x 12"; tote bag with lucite handles, 19" x 16". Open toe sling-back shoes by Edouard, approx. size 5, L-9.25", Wd-3", heel 3". Crawford had previously given the set to the New York museum.

This set was sold at auction in October 2008 for $373.75).

A handbag of imitation black patent crocodile skin, with gilt metal shoulder straps and clear plastic change purse. A pair of matching sling-backed peep-toe shoes, labelled Edouard, 18 East 53rd St. N.Y.C. These shoes and handbag sold at auction on May 30th, 2007. Hammer price: $480.

Summer handbag & shoe set having orange sequins laminated between clear vinyl. Handbag with self same handle, 16" x 8"; change purse; open toe sling-back shoes by Edouard, approx. size 5, L-9.25", Wd-3", heel 3". Crawford had previously given the set to the New York museum. Personalized Matchbook. Joan placed these personalized matchbooks throughout her apartments, and encouraged visitors to take them as mementos. Joan would always have one of these match books on hand next to ashtrays.

A Murano lamp. The blown cased glass body has clear swirled ribs over white with air trap designs and copper metallic highlights. Stepped white marble base. Electric, 1950's. Height: 41 3/4" inches. This lamp sold at auction on July 19th, 2003. Hammer Price: $175.00.

Oriental Vases (Late 19th,early 20th century); each with twin pierced gilt handles and painted with a mother and children in a garden setting to the front and poetic text to the reverse, Height: 42.5cm. These vases were auctioned on July 7th, 2010 with an estimated sell price of $860 - $1,400, however, received no bids.

1945 Academy Award For Best Actress In A Motion Picture Joan won this award for her performance in "Mildred Pierce"

on March 7th, 1946.


This award was originally auctioned on June 19th, 1993 by Christies East in Manhattan, New York. The hammer price

(with buyer's premium) was $68,500.

The award was auctioned again on September 25th, 2012 by Nate D. Sanders Auctions. The hammer price (including

buyer's premium) was $426,732.

1969 Golden Globe Honorary "Cecil B. Demile" Award. Joan was presented with this award on February 2nd, 1970 during the 27th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

USO Woman Of The Year Award. Awarded to Joan on March 2nd, 1965. Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

Variety Club International Award. Joan was honored with this award at Variety Club's 25th Anniversary celebration in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 11th, 1960. Joan received this honor for being an "outstanding box office attraction motion picture star and dedicated friend of Variety." Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

1954 Fur Fashion Woman of the Year Award. Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

Exhibitor Laurel Award For "Sudden Fear." Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

Award Of Merit From The National Association Of Architectural Metal Manufacturers. Awarded to Joan in 1963 for her outstanding contributions to the Motion Picture industry. Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

Rafael Ramos Cobian Achievement Award. Joan was honored with this award on January 22nd, 1969 for her "outstanding contributions to the Motion Picture Industry during her distinguished career as the most popular of all film personalities." Joan later gave this award away to Dr. Arnold Klein in 1975. Klein later auctioned his belongings, including this award, due to financial hardships. It sold at Bonhams on January 23rd, 2012 for $525 (including buyer's premium).

1964 Viviane Woodard Fascinating Actress Award.

Honorary Hoosier Award. Awarded to Joan on January 8th, 1964 by the Indiana Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Association. Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

Alltalia a Joan Crawford XI Rassegna Cinematografica Messina-Taormina. Joan was honored with this award at the Taormina Film Festival on August 2nd, 1965. Joan gave this award to Brandeis University prior to her death.

The clip-brooch set with a rectangular modified brilliant-cut citrine weighing approximately 350.00 carats, signed Yard; attached to a necklace designed as a double snake-link chain accented by gold scrolls and a citrine clasp, length 14½ inches; the hinged bracelet set with two large half-moon shaped citrines, internal circumference approximately 7 inches; the ear clips set with emerald-cut citrines within a border of ribbon scrolls. Gold Charm Belt From Vincent Sherman. Ruser-designed, a gold charm belt composed of a link chain intersected at regular intervals by six detachable oval-shaped gold discs, three of them engraved: "The Damned Don't Cry," "Goodbye My Fancy," "Starring Joan, directed with Love and Affection by Vincent," and "Harriet Craig." 29 inches in length. Signed "Ruser". This belt was auctioned on October 16th, 2012 - Hammer Price: $7,500.00. This belt was previously auctioned by Christie's New York in March 1978, Lot 62.

Geoffrey Beene-Designed Gold-Plated Metal and Rhinestone Earclips and Ring. Gold-plated metal pave-set with clear rhinestones. Lady's Gold Wristwatch. 14 kt. reverse inscribed "Joan Crawford", 1940s, approximately 9.9 dwt.

Bonus Item: A Gold Lighter Gifted by Joan to MGM Writer and Producer Leon Gordon.
Pictured is a gold lighter given by Joan to Leon Gordon. Mr. Gordon was an actor, writer and producer for many years. Among his many writing achievements, he wrote the screenplay of Joan's 1937 film "The Last of Mrs. Cheney," and was a contributing writer of Joan's 1941 film "When Ladies Meet." Additionally, Mr. Gordon was an associate producer of Joan's 1943 film "Above Suspicion." Mr. Gordon later gifted the lighter to his daughter. However, not wanting to encourage her to smoke, he had the lighter refashioned as a watch and lipstick holder (as seen in the photos). Pictured in the last photo of the lighter is also a picture of Mr. Gordon with Clark Gable.

A special thanks to Mr. Gordon's daughter for allowing the lighter to be photographed and documented on this website.

Personal Lipstick Case. The case features an array of gadgets, including a built-in mirror and "Joan" engraving along the side panel. Crawford personally gifted this case to production assistant Matilda "Babe" Kupp, and this case remained in the Kupp family's possession since. This case was auctioned on October 5th, 2012, with a starting bid of $150.00, however, received no bids.

Originally auctioned on June 19th, 1993 by Christie's East in Manhattan, New York. This dress was part of auction lot #33, which consisted of seven floor length spring dresses from Joan's estate.


Two William Haines black lacquer and copper swivel chairs with black vinyl upholstered seats

These chairs were originally auctioned on February 16th, 1978 by Plaza Art Galleries in Manhattan, New York. The realized price was $750.

The chairs were later auctioned on April 17th, 2012 by Doyle Auction House in Manhattan, New York. The realized price (including buyer's premium) was $31,250.

Assorted Sweaters
Originally auctioned on June 19th, 1993 by Christie's East in Manhattan, New York. These four sweaters included: a pink lambs wool Saks Fifth Avenue sweater; A pink satin flowers applied on the front with pink pearl and gray bugle beading, size 38; A lined cream lambs wool sweater with white and pear beading, size 38; A cream lambs wool/angora blend sweater with iridescent sequins and pearl buttons, and a lambs wool blend cream sweater with gold sequins and matching gold buttons.
